Lane 2: (Builder) The Starting a Business Lane
This is the “I’m curious… maybe?” lane.
You’re not trying to build an empire — you’re trying to see if this could support you a little.
You want:
A simple structure
Clear next steps
To learn without burning out
To test ideas without pressure
This lane is about foundation, not scale.
Clarity over speed.
Confidence over hustle.
step one
Self-validation
First of all, you’re not broken.
You’re not indecisive.
And you’re definitely not behind.
You’re just in that in-between space no one really warns you about.
You’re not trying to turn something you love into a stressful job.
You’re trying to figure out if there’s a way for it to support you without sucking the joy out of it. Totally valid.
Wanting clarity doesn’t mean you’re rushing.
It means you care enough to do this thoughtfully.
step two
New insight (where you are & why)
Your craft is starting to ask a different kind of question.
Not “Do I love this?”
But “Could this fit into my life in a sustainable way?”
You may be feeling:
- Curious about income, but cautious about pressure
- Excited by the possibility, but overwhelmed by options
- Pulled toward the structure, while fearing it might kill the fun
That tension doesn’t mean you’re ready to go all in.
It means you’ve outgrown guessing.
The discomfort you feel isn’t urgency; it’s your signal that clarity now will save you frustration later.
You’re at the decision-making stage most people skip, and regret skipping.
step 3
Recognize Your Strengths
You already have advantages that matter more than hustle:
- You understand your craft deeply
- You care about sustainability (not just quick wins)
- You’re willing to think before you leap
- You’re motivated by alignment, not just money
These are the exact traits that lead to better decisions, fewer pivots, and far less burnout.
You don’t need more motivation.
You need better filters.
step 4
Focus (what to work on now)
Right now, this isn’t about scaling.
It’s not about speed.
And it’s definitely not about having everything figured out.
This stage is about laying the foundation.
You’re getting clear on what you want from a business —
and just as importantly, what you don’t want.
This is the time to start noticing things like:
- What kind of work gives you energy (and what drains it)
- What type of products would actually fit your lifestyle
- How much time and mental space you realistically want this to take
- What you want this to support — income, flexibility, creativity, or breathing room
Think of this as building the ground you’ll eventually stand on, not the whole house.
Focus on:
- Learning the basics without locking yourself into anything
- Exploring product ideas that feel doable and enjoyable
- Trying light structure that supports you instead of boxing you in
From me to you.
This stage matters way more than people admit. Most burnout doesn’t come from trying. It comes from skipping clarity and pushing anyway.
I’ll be popping into your inbox with emails that feel more like check-ins than lectures, helping you sort through ideas, options, and next steps without overwhelm.
No hype.
No “you shoulds.”
No pressure to become anything you don’t want to be.
Just support while you figure out what you actually want this to look like. And I’m really glad you’re here. 💛
